How much will I pay for therapy using out-of-network benefits?

Many insurance plans include out-of-network benefits that can be used to pay for therapy. You can use the out-of-network reimbursement calculator below to discover if your plan is supported, and to get an individualized estimate of what your costs will be using your out-of-network benefits. Be sure to confirm your benefits with your insurance provider directly.

Out-of-network benefits typically reimburse 60-80% of the ssession cost. Medicare/Medicaid do not offer out-of-network coverage.

Upon enrollment, my billing company will submit your out-of-network claims for most major insurance companies for a small 5% processing fee. This service greatly reduces billing hassles and headaches, while maximizing your insurance benefits.

Can you work with clients anywhere in the country?

No. Therapists can only provide services in the states they are licensed. I am currently licensed in Washington state. Some states, such as Arizona, allow out-of-state telehealth services for visitors, so that you may continue services while traveling.

What if I’m not sure we’re a good fit?

Before scheduling a therapy session, I offer a free 15-minute intro call with prospective clients. This gives us the chance to get to know each other. Here’s what you can expect:

  • I’ll ask you about why you’re seeking therapy

  • I’ll tell you a bit about myself and my approach as a therapist

  • You can ask me any questions that I didn’t cover

  • We’ll talk about rates, insurance, availability, etc.

So we’re a good fit. What next?

If we both decide we're a good fit after our intro call, we'll schedule our first therapy appointment. I'll send you a link to your client portal to complete the necessary forms before our first session. I'll also send you a HIPPA-secure link each week for our telehealth session.

What’s the first therapy session like?

As a therapist, I have a collaborative, non-judgmental, and relatable approach that will make getting started a bit easier. During our first couple of sessions I'll ask you questions to get a better picture of your life journey. Together, we will identify what you hope to accomplish in therapy.

Sometimes therapy can be tough work, and sometimes it is fun and full of laughter. Either way, I am here to support you and will help you achieve the change and growth you are looking for. The approaches I use often result in rapid symptom reduction, allowing you to feel better within the first few sessions.

How often will we meet?

I meet with the majority of my clients on a weekly basis. I ask that all new clients commit to meeting weekly, for at-least the first 6 weeks. This will allow us to start off on a strong foot, so you can start seeing progress right away. I may recommend that we increase or decrease the frequency of sessions to best meet your needs.

How long will I need to be in therapy?

I utilize EMDR, IFS, and DBT therapy. This means you won’t have to be in therapy forever. Many of my clients find that they’ve met their goals within 3-6 months and no longer need therapy. Clients with more complex histories may require longer treatment.

I also have clients who choose to remain in therapy for much longer; they have seen improvements and still enjoy having ongoing support and a place to process their thoughts and feelings each week.
